Sometimes it is sensible to rescue an adult or young Labrador, rather than get a new puppy. A collection of links below will set you off on your quest for a waggily friend. Patience, perseverance, love and liver treats can set you on the way to a well trained rescue dog.

They do have a phone number, but go to the web site )link above) to check the opening hours, so that you ring at the right time.

Pet's Haven is located in Woodend (50km from Melbourne), and although they are a shelter which rescues all types of dogs/cats from death row pounds, they regularly have Labradors available from pups to older dogs.
All dogs are de-sexed and receive injections and cost $330 (as at 25/11/2009) which is very reasonable for a Labrador! They recently had a lab available with pedigree papers.
